New Finish Explores the Range of Matte Black in Cabinetry Design

The color black stands alone in its beauty, elegance and timelessness. It’s one of few colors that transcends audiences and trends, adapting effortlessly from formal luxury to modern minimalism. The powerful neutral can add sophistication, create contrast, or provide a subtle backdrop for other colors. Its ability to absorb light and convey multiple meanings allows this foundational color to bring a sense of permanence to a space.

Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry explores this enduring design aesthetic with the introduction of Matte Soft Black, a softer take on true black. Already a versatile design element, the use of soft black in cabinetry design unlocks another level of range simply by varying the wood species. The same stain can produce a completely different look depending on the wood species on which it is applied. In this introduction, Wood-Mode strategically paired the shape-shifting Matte Soft Black stain with a range of six wood species:

•    Plain Sawn White Oak (PW)
•    Rift Cut White Oak (RW)
•    Quarter Sawn White Oak (QW)
•    Plain Sawn American Oak (PR)
•    Vertical Rift Cut Veneer (RV)
•    Horizontal Rift Cut Veneer (RH)

Matte Soft Black can now be specified through any of Wood-Mode’s network of 600+ independent dealers located throughout North America. To find a showroom, visit wood-mode.com.
